About NUFORSA

We are a registered road safety non-governmental organization and we have been at the centre of preventing road traffic accidents in Nigeria and around the world.

The road safety campaign was established in 2011 to create greater awareness of the potential to prevent unnecessary death and serious injury.

Our campaign has enabled work across all three major components of road safety, namely: Road, Vehicle and Behaviour.

Nigerians are nearly 9 times more likely to die on the road than in any other daily activity

Road deaths are becoming the leading cause of death in children and young adults

Over 100 people are killed or seriously injured on the road everyday

Nigerians Unite for Road Safety is a company limited by guarantee

Sunday, Nov 20, 2016

Time: 9:00am - 6:00pm

The world day of remembrance for road traffic victims takes place on the third Sunday in November every year, as a day to acknowledge victims of road traffic crashes and to give support to their families. It was started by a UK charity ROAD PEACE in 1993 and was adopted by the United Nation General Assembly in 2005.

In Nigeria, NUFORSA focuses on both the overall scale and the devastation caused to individuals by the deaths and injuries, plus the impact on families and communities. Since 2012, we launched WDR in partnership with STEERITE driving school and offered families and friends the opportunity to come together to remember loved ones, highlight the death toll and reflect on what can be done to prevent future occurrence….
